When you arrive for your appointment, one of our friendly team members will take you back to the treatment room and help you settle into the treatment chair. Then, your dentist will come in, answer any questions you have, and thoroughly numb the area of your mouth that they’ll be working on. Once you’re completely comfortable, they will begin the procedure.
If your wisdom tooth is trapped below the gumline, then your dentist will make a small incision in your gums to assess it. Then, they will carefully remove it. If your wisdom tooth has broken through the gumline, however, then they will complete a “simple extraction,” which involves gently rocking the tooth loose.

Wisdom tooth extractions are normally considered to be a “major restorative procedure” but dental insurance providers. This means that after the yearly deductible has been met, and before your maximum has been reached, the procedure is likely to be covered by your provider at about 50%.
